QUARTZ AGGREGATED SURFACE HARDENER

Product Description:
It is a cement-based, quartz aggregate, ready-to-use surface hardening material that is applied by sprinkling powder on freshly glazed floor concrete surfaces that will work under medium and heavy loads.

TS EN 13813

Public Works Pos No: 04.613/3F04-05-06

Areas of Use:
Indoor and outdoor,
Residential, commercial and industrial building floors
In factories,
In business and shopping centers,
In schools and hospitals,
In construction markets and supermarkets,
At gas stations,
In the fairgrounds,
In hangars,
In mechanical workshops,
In garages,
In basement floors,
In warehouses,
In loading and unloading areas,
In subway stations and underground passages,
In parks and gardens,
On pedestrian paths and sidewalks,
It is used on floors that can be exposed to all kinds of friction.

Features :
It is easily applied to fresh concrete.
It is economical and long-lasting.
It contains quartz aggregate with a special granulometric grain size.
Thanks to the special binders it contains, it absorbs the water of the fresh concrete it is applied, and creates a monolithic structure with the concrete after polishing.
Altop 100 applied surface is 2-4 times more resistant to abrasion than normal concrete surface.
Provides resistance to abrasion and impact on concrete surfaces and joint edges.
It is resistant to freezing-thawing cycle.
Oil, petroleum etc. Its resistance to materials and its impermeability is higher than normal concrete.
It has different color options.
It is not oxidized and has a long service life.

Technical Spesifications:
Color: Gray / Red / Green
Aggregate Hardness: 7 Mohs Hardness Scale
Application Temperature: + 5ºC to + 35ºC
Abrasion Resistance: ≤ 3,5 cm³ / 50 cm²
Compressive Strength: ≥ 45 N / mm²
The above values are given for +23 ºC and 50% relative humidity.

Pre-Application Preparation:
If Altop 100 is to be applied on old concrete, at least 7 cm thick C25 concrete should be poured first.
A floor primer should be used to increase the adherence between new and old concrete and to ensure adhesion.
The wetness of the concrete surface to be applied is extremely important.
Surface Altop 100 should be wet enough to absorb the moisture it needs.
If the surface is too wet, the material will disappear within the thickness of the concrete itself. If the surface is too dry, the product will not bond to the surface and the application will be inefficient.

Application:
In the application areas, after the base concrete is poured in the form of slabs and completed, the concrete surface is leveled with the help of a gauge (vibrating gauge). When the base concrete sets in such a way that a footprint is left on its surface, disc glazing is done. Immediately after the completion of this stage, 2/3 of the total amount is sprinkled on the fresh concrete surface homogeneously. The material is expected to absorb the water of the concrete and become moist and turn a dark color. Care is taken to ensure that the color is uniform throughout the floor. This amount, which is poured homogeneously on the surface, is thoroughly fed into fresh concrete with disc glaze. After that, the remaining 1/3 amount is sprinkled on the fresh concrete surface and glazed with the help of disc glazing. The polishing process is continued until the desired surface quality is reached.
After the glazing process is completed, Curemax curing materials should be used to protect the concrete surface. Curemax curing materials increase the strength value of concrete and slow down the rate of water evaporation in the concrete, allowing the concrete to set with the amount of water available. It prevents the occurrence of shrinkage cracks and surface dusting.
Curing:
After the glazing process is completed, Curemax curing materials should be used to protect the concrete surface. Curemax curing materials increase the strength value of concrete and slow down the water evaporation rate in the concrete, allowing the concrete to set with the amount of water available. It prevents the occurrence of shrinkage cracks and surface dusting. Curing application must be done in summer and winter.

Warnings:
During the application, the ambient and ground temperature should be between + 5ºC and + 35ºC.
Surface hardener application is made with varying timings according to the quality and type of concrete to be applied, weather and ambient conditions. The application rate increases in hot weather, and the application rate decreases in cold weather. During the application, the setting stages of the concrete should be considered.
Surface hardener applications should be done by expert applicators.
Surface hardeners are only intended to increase the abrasion and impact resistance of the surface to be applied, they have no effect on the mechanical strength of the concrete to be applied. Therefore, the concrete to be applied should be designed according to the mechanical loads that will affect it.
The thickness of the screeds on which Altop 100 will be applied should be over 7 cm, the water / cement ratio should be over 0.45 and the concrete class should be at least C25.

Consumption
Depending on the purpose of use and traffic load: 5-8 kg / m²

Packing: 25 kg craft bags.

Storage and Shelf Life
It should be stored in its unopened original package, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. For short term storage, maximum 3 palettes should be placed on top of each other and the shipment should be made on a first in, first out system.
Palettes should not be stacked on top of each other during long term storage.
It is 12 months from the date of production under suitable storage conditions.
Opened packages should be stored under appropriate storage conditions and used within one week.
