Pre-Application Preparation
Care should be taken that the application surface is cured and solid.
The application surface should be free from materials such as dust, oil, paint that prevent adhesion.
Adhesive application should be started at least 28 days after the lower plaster layer or rough plaster is applied.
In order to make the old painted surfaces suitable for adhesion, they should not be notched and dust.
Sub surfaces such as cracked plasters and weak surfaces should be cleaned from the application surface.
The floors that require repair should be repaired with suitable repair mortars at least 3-4 days before the adhesive is applied.
If the sill lengths are not sufficient for the sheathing in old buildings, a window sill profile should be used to protect the system. Windowsill profiles should be glued under the old windowsill with polyurethane sealant or silicone. This profile application should be done before starting the sheathing application.
Before the application, the application surface should be wetted and care should be taken to keep it moist.
If the surface is very absorbent, it is recommended to use a primer on the surface.

Application
25 kg Polyfix RW4, Thermal Insulation Board Adhesive Mortar is poured into a container filled with approximately 5.5-6.5 liters of water and mixed with a low-speed mixer or trowel until a lump-free mixture is obtained.
During the mixture, any additives not specified in the application instructions should not be added.
The prepared mortar should be rested for 3-5 minutes to mature and mixed again until it becomes homogeneous for 1-2 minutes.
In-pot mixture should be consumed within 1-2 hours.
Adhesive is applied with a mortar trowel in the form of 4-5 cm strips along the edges of the bonding surfaces of the thermal insulation boards, and in points on the middle parts of the boards.
It must be in contact with at least 40% of the adhesive sheet.
Bonding can be done on smooth surfaces by notching with a 10x10 notched steel trowel.
In rockwool applications, the board should be primed by applying a thin layer of glue to the edges and heap points of the board. After this process, standard adhesive application is made.
The thermal insulation boards are lined up so that they touch each other by placing the bottom up, on the bottom base profile with a slight pressure on the surface to be applied. The joints of the insulation boards should not overlap, and the boards should be placed staggered. Bonding is done by pressing so that a smooth surface is formed with the help of a gauge. Adhesive should not be applied or overflowed on the side surfaces of the boards. There should be no gaps between the plates, if there is any gap, these gaps must be closed with the material of appropriate thickness to be cut from the same plate.
The junction point of the two plates should not be placed on the door-window edges, column-beam junction points and points corresponding to beam floor transitions. These types of points where plaster cracks occur more should be covered with a single plate. Especially on door-window edges, the plate cut in L shape should be applied to the corner detail.
In the corners of the buildings, it should be ensured that the plate edges coming from different directions are applied in a staggered manner. In the corners of the building, the boards are placed at the edge in the first row. The plate in the upper row is left as long as the thickness of the plate used in the corner. During the bonding of the sheet to be left with a margin, the adhesive is applied from the inside as much as the distance left and the sheet is adhered to the surface in this way. Thus, by locking the boards at the corners of the building, they work in one piece and the risk of possible cracking is minimized.
The appropriate type and size of dowels should be selected according to the application floor and plate thickness.
Mechanical fastening with dowels should be started at least 24 hours after the bonding process. In details that cannot be expected for 24 hours (ceiling, oval surface, etc.), the dowel can be applied immediately after the plate is attached.
For all surfaces; In buildings with a height of 0-8 meters, dowels should be applied 6 pieces per square meter, 1 at each joint of the boards and 2 in the middle of each plate. Due to the increasing wind load depending on the height, 2 more dowels should be applied to the edges of the boards whose height corresponds to the corners of the building between 8-20 meters, and 3 more dowels after 20 meters.
Dowel heads should be embedded in the insulation board so that they do not swell in the plaster. Dowels should be mounted 10-15 cm inside the edges and corners of the building.

Warnings
During the placement of the boards, the adhesive on the surface of the boards should be prevented from drying out and forming a film layer.
In Polyfix RW4 application, if the ambient and surface temperature is not between + 5ºC and + 35ºC, suitable temperatures should be expected. In addition, the application should not be made in extremely hot, rainy or windy weathers.
In exterior surface applications, the coated surface must be protected from excessive sunlight, wind, frost or rain for the first 24 hours.
Working and reaction times of cement based systems are affected by the ambient and ground temperature and relative humidity in the air.
Under no circumstances, water and new material should be added to the drying Polyfix RW4 mixture.
Polyfix RW4 should never be used as plaster.
After the application, the tools and equipment used should be cleaned with water, after the mortar hardens, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.
