CRYSTALIZED WATERPROOFING MORTAR

Product Description:
It consists of specially selected cement and filler and various effective chemicals, which can be applied positively and negatively, produces insoluble crystals with water and moisture, disperses these crystals in all directions thanks to the catalytic reaction, fills the pores and capillary spaces, prevents water and other harmful liquids from entering the concrete. It is a waterproofing material.

It is suitable TS EN 1504-2 (C) I MC-IR principles.

Public Works Pos No: 04.477/3

Areas of Use:
Positive Water Pressure
Water tanks, swimming pools, water treatment plants, dams, concrete pipes, water channels, foundation insulation, curtain wall insulation, manholes.
Negative Water Pressure
External insulation of water tanks, internal insulation of basement walls and foundations, retaining walls and tunnels, subways, elevator shafts, foundation bundling and cold joints.

Features:
It is resistant to both positive and negative water pressure.
It integrates with the surface it is applied to, does not tear, does not puncture, and provides a continuous and complete waterproofing.
With each contact with water, the formation of protective insoluble crystals starts again and fills the capillary voids in the concrete, ensuring the waterproofing of the structure for life.
Sumax CR "Dry Sprinkle" and "Aqueous Mortar" applications are extremely easy and effective methods against the insulation problem that may occur under the foundation and in horizontal cold joints.
During application, the surface does not need to be dry or suitable for climatic conditions.
It is permeable to air and water vapor, the structure breathes.
It can be applied to fresh concrete that has not set.
It is resistant to freezing and thawing cycle.
It can be easily applied all over the building and reduces workmanship errors to zero.
It protects concrete and reinforcement from the corrosive effects of water.
Since it is not toxic, it can be used in water tanks.
It is resistant to high hydrostatic pressure.
It is not affected by sudden temperature changes.
Sumax CR provides cheaper, safer and easier insulation than other solutions.

Pre-Application Preparation
The application surface is free from dust, oil, paint, etc. It should be cleaned of anti-stick materials such as and moistened.
Weak parts of the concrete should be repaired, plasters that are not adhered well should be removed, the surface should be brought to a smooth and solid state. Static cracks in the building should be repaired with high strength repair mortars.
The application surface must be saturated with water and must be kept moist during application.

Application:
After the surface preparation is done completely, the application method varies depending on the application surface and whether the building is new or old.
1 - Wet Mortar:
Mixing water should be added slowly to Sumax CR Crystallized Waterproofing Material placed in a clean mixing container. The reverse process should not be done and the material that can be used within 20 minutes is mixed with a low speed mixer for 3-5 minutes. must be mixed. The mixed mortar is 3-5 minutes. rested and again 30 sec. After mixing, the material becomes ready to use.
Water Mixing Ratio: 3.5 - 4.0 liters of water (for 20 kg powder mortar)
Sumax CR is applied to the moistened surface in 2 layers, perpendicular to each other with a brush. The second coat is applied when the first coat is hardened but not yet fully dried (within approximately 3-4 hours, this time varies depending on weather conditions). After application, curing with water is extremely important.

2- Plaster:
For very old concrete, brick or briquette surfaces, the first layer can be applied with a 5-10 mm thick plaster. On top of that, the second layer can be applied as a slurry

3- Dry Sprinkle:
Sumax CR is applied by sprinkling it in powder form in horizontal joint applications in cold joint applications caused by waiting, pausing during construction and leaving it halfway to continue the next day.
In cases where the ground water level is high and raft foundation bundling, Sumax CR is sprinkled on the leveling concrete surface as powder after the iron is laid, just before the pouring of the slab concrete.
Application Methods According to the Type of Building:
1- New Buildings: Dry Sprinkle or Wet Mortar
2- Old Structures: If there are holes on the surface with strong water flow, first of all, a drill, etc., to reduce the water pressure of these holes. With the tool, the holes are enlarged so that water can flow freely. If there are leaks at more than one point, the water is allowed to flow by drilling holes from the lower parts of the wall. If the water pressure is too high, a thin plastic pipe is placed in these holes. If the pressure is not too much, there is no need for a plastic pipe. The waterproofing of all places outside the plastic pipe on the surface is made with Sumax CR plaster. This mortar is expected to be cured for 24 hours.
After the insulation of the other parts of the surface except the holes, the plastic pipe is removed and the inside of the hole is clogged with 1 part of water, 3 parts of Sumax Stop Turbo, High Speed Setting Water Plugging Mortar. Press vigorously with a gloved hand, for about 1 minute, until the plugging mortar hardens.
After the Sumax CR plaster has cured, the insulation is made by applying Sumax CR aqueous mortar, covering the perimeter of the hole.
Warnings:
If the temperature of the substrate to be applied is below + 5ºC and above + 35ºC, suitable temperatures should be expected.
In exterior surface applications, the surface must be protected from sun, wind, rain and frost for the first 24 hours.
The material should be prepared to be consumed within 20 minutes.
Crystals formed by Sumax CR can create a very not decorative appearance. To prevent this, the top coat of Sumax CR should be plastered while it is still wet and the paint should be applied on the plaster.
If ceramic or tile application will be made, ceramic adhesive should be applied directly on the freshly applied Sumax CR. If these applications will be applied on cured Sumax CR, the crystals on the surface should be wiped with diluted hydrochloric acid or bleach, then plaster should be applied on it. This wiping process only destroys the crystals on the surface and does not damage the crystals that have penetrated into the concrete.
Powder and water should never be added to the mortar that has expired or crusted in the container.
All tools and application equipment should be washed with clean water immediately after use.

Consumption
Wet Mortar: 1,0-1,50 kg / m² (for 1 mm thickness)
Plaster: 2.0-3.0 kg / m² (for 1 mm thickness)
Spreading: 2.50-3.00 kg / m² (for 1 mm thickness)
Consumption amount is the values calculated theoretically in the laboratory environment; We recommend that consumption control sample application be made before the application.

Packing: 20 kg craft bag.

Storage and Shelf Life
It should be stored in its unopened original package, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. For short term storage, maximum 3 palettes should be placed on top of each other and the shipment should be made on a first in, first out system. Palettes should not be stacked on top of each other during long term storage.
Suitable storage conditions are 6 months from the date of production. Opened packages should be stored under appropriate storage conditions and used within one week.
